1 Banana per person 2 tsp Sugar per banana Butter Rum or Brandy Optional - Cinnamon Optional - Vanilla Ice Cream |

Fried Method Heat butter and sugar in a frying pan on medium heat. Peel bananas and slice in half length wise and place in an pan. Cook until brown on both sides. Add 10 ml rum or brandy per banana to pan and light, be careful! Burn for 1 minute. Serve flaming or with a side of ice cream. Oven Method Preheat oven to 180°C or 350°F Peel bananas and slice in half length wise and place in an oven safe dish. Put a bit of butter on each half of the banana. Add a bit of sugar to each of the bananas in each dish. Place in oven and cook for approximately 20-25 mins or until bananas have browned a bit. With 5 minutes left to cook, heat 10ml of rum or brandy per banana in a pot on very low heat on stove. Pull out bananas when ready. Set alcohol in pot alight with match, be careful! Pour over a bit on each dish. Serve flaming or with a side of ice cream. |
