1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup sugar, granulated 1/3 cup brown sugar, light 1 egg 1/2 tspn. vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 tspn. salt 1/2 tspn. baking soda 1/4 tspn. cream of tartar Topping: 2 tbspn. sugar, granulated 1/4 tspn. cinnamon |

In a large bowl, cream butter and both sugars at high speed. Add egg, vanilla extract, and beat until smooth. In another bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Pour dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix well. In a small bowl, combine the two "Topping" ingredients and set aside. Take about 2 1/2 tbsp. of dough and roll it into a small ball. Take this small ball and coat it in the "Topping" mixture, then press onto a greased cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 300F while you let the cookies on the cookie sheet rest 30 minutes in the fridge. Bake for 10-12 minutes, no more. |
