2 ¼ cups flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 ½ teaspoons ginger 70ml margarine 1 cup muscovado sugar 1 large egg 70ml syrup |

• Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius • Sift the flour, baking soda and powder, salt, cinnamon and ginger into a medium bowl, mix ingredients together and set aside. • In a large bowl, using an electric beater on medium speed beat the butter and sugar together until well blended. Then add the egg and syrup and mix well. • Add the flour mixture and mix well together with a wooden spoon. •Roll the dough into medium sized balls and place on greased baking tray, press down with a fork and bake for 10 – 15 minutes. |
