I have been experimenting with this crust and have made some great pies. Savoury crust: Dissolve a chicken stock cube in 2 cups boiling water.Add this to the maizemeal in a pot and cook until a stiff dough is produced.Take of the stove and allow to cool. In a seperate bowl make pie crust as per any crust recipe. Now mix the maizemeal dough with the pie crust dough thoroughly. This produces a fine crispy crust when baked. Sweet pie crust: Substitute the chicken stock cube with a tablespoon of sugar.This recipe has endless possibilities,try it. |
